Botswana is top of the leading sire charts

We received some fun news, Botswana is the all time #1 Leading Sire of EBC Champions of the US Egyptian Event. He shares the title of #1 Leading Straight Egyptian Sire this year with his father, Thee Desperado. His offspring set the bar for “Talaria Type”, with their big expressive eyes, wonderful conformation, and outstanding temperaments. His daughters have grown up to be top producers around the world. We simply could not ask for more than what Botswana gives to us As always, it is an honor and a privilege to walk beside his hoof prints.

It is bittersweet to see him go. We will miss his clownish personality and big beautiful eyes. Nadir is a true gentleman and we have been honored to have been such a big part of his journey and to have watched him grow into the magnificent stallion he is today. A Magical Evening in The Gardens of Isfahan

On 17 Sep, Talaria Farms celebrated the Egyptian Arabian Horse during a very special evening at the farm. Guests from all over the globe gathered at the farm on a hot & humid early fall evening. The indoor arena was transformed into a Persian garden complete with a center court reflecting pool, in which a bejeweled fountain and gold fish were featured, and around which a select group of Talaria’s incredibly beautiful horses were presented. Guests first made their way through the five exotic tents serving Persian foods and libations, and selling lovely jewelry from the Middle East.

Persian tribal dancers entertained intermittently throughout the evening featuring authentic harvest gathering dances. A wide range of exotic Oriental rugs from Persia and beyond, further enriched the arena, and the entire scene was warmly lit by one of the southeast’s top lighting designers. Soul-stirring music filled the entire facility and enhanced this incredibly festive and provocative evening. There were quite a few less than dry eyes during mares with foals presentation.

Presenters of our horses included Jose, Anjelica, and Jazmin Palomera from our Talaria staff, in addition to Mike Wilson and Peri Tilghman from Florida, Johanna Ullstrom who flew in from Belgium for literally 40 hours and, of course, Sheila Varian who came from California to lead Kissemee Julyen V, the dam of Botswana’s latest heart throb – TF Afrikhan Kiss. Allison reminded us all that there are only a few people – in any industry – who can make a single initial such a recognizable moniker. We thank the “V” for coming in from Arroyo Grande to share in this special celebration.

The presentations around the pool concluded with the big boys individually – first 2010 US Nationals Top Ten (4th) Jr Stallion TF Royal Shahbaz followed by the king himself, Botswana – and lastly, the two of them glaring at each other from across the pool, both looking absolutely magnificent.
The evening’s final segment moved to the rug draped presentation ring in which a few of Talaria’s exciting movers showed off their spirit and proved that beauty in motion can dazzle. Who says Egyptians can’t move?

From Foal to Four Year-Old – Training for Success In Halter & Performance

This was not a seminar for the fair weather horseman. A cool rainy weekend greeted devoted seminar attendees, but seemed not to dampen the enthusiasm of either them or their seminarians. Our guests traveled from points afar (such as the states of Washington, Texas, & Arkansas), as well as from England, France, & Switzerland) and from across the Southeast & across the county.
They asked tough questions, and they asked intelligent questions.

Sheila Varian came in from the Central Valley of California, Liz Bentley traveled in from Missouri, Johanna Ullstrom (with Jeremy in tow) flew in earlier in the week (to get some time in with her Egyptian Event string) from Brussels, & Mike Wilson and Peri Tilghman came up from central Florida. They maintained a spirited dialogue throughout the entire two days that was informative, fascinating, and often very funny.

In addition to Nancy Pierce’s wonderful photographs, we thank Christy Hazel and our dear friend Amy Austin for
their photographic contributions.

Demonstrations with Talaria horses covered topics such as beginning halter, identifying characteristics that indicated futures in specific performance disciplines, show clipping, techniques to improve performance, and all was demonstrated with an emphasis on
reward rather than punishment based training.

Saturday night’s presentation featured some of Talaria’s 2009 show string, Madhin Nile Moons’ two beautiful new-born foals out of Botswana daughters Nairobi and Star of Afrika, and Afrikhan Alkhemi’s exotic first foal – a lovely daughter out of Maya Naufali, and, of course, Afrikhan Shah’s first three foals – you must see them to believe them. The new foals all represented the breeding progeny of the main man still – Botswana.

Two hot breakfasts, lunches, and Saturday night’s cocktails and dinner were prepared and served by that incredible pair – Jane and John. It gets better and better. A special thank-you to Jane and John for the private dinner Friday evening, in honor of our seminarians and a few very special guests. It was prepared and formally served and it was over the top.

Yes, it WAS More Fun than a Barrel of Monkeys, but no, HE is not the proverbial monkey on your back, nor was it a weekend of Monkey Business.

New Frontiers in Halter Management

The spring Talaria seminar (which may likely be the most memorable to date) occurred on 15 & 16 March. Sheila Varian, Johanna Ullstrom, & Mike Wilson were simply wonderful. They interacted effortlessly, as if they were a touring act that had done this a thousand times (together) before. New Frontiers in Halter Management was the title, and the weekend was devoted to an atypical approach to preparing the horse for the halter ring. Special emphasis was given to starting the young horse, and on encouraging free and charismatic movement in halter classes.

Samantha Mattocks was in attendance representing the well respected British publication, The Arabian Magazine, and has published in-depth coverage of the two-day affair in a three-part article. We are honored that such a magazine of substance and style believes so strongly in this subject matter that they elected to grace their pages over three editions this year, with material from this seminar.

Guests were treated to two days of discussions, demonstrations, presentation of some of the Talaria Farms show string, and terrific plentiful meals prepared and served up by Jane & John in their standard fashion of excellence.

The Talaria staff was on cue and in control of the agenda through-out the entire affair, and we thank them for their tireless passion and excellence in horsemanship.

The balance created by the perspectives of these three seminarians was fascinating and natural. Sheila, through a 30 minute live display of her philosophy (non-intimidating control) applied to a very naïve yearling colt, gained his trust and cooperation, reminding us all just why she has earned the status of a true icon of the Arabian industry. She’s still going strong!

Johanna’s fascinating demonstrations of working with halter horses in hand, teaching them to read body language without being stressed by force and intimidation, had guests taking notes and buzzing. Mike helped to keep the ideas melded nicely, while bringing a “civilized” American perspective to the equation, not just in word but in demonstrations as well.

Samantha Mattocks, editor of the Arabian Magazine, was our guest and scribbled away madly, in an almost futile attempt to keep up with the seminarians, while talented photographer and videographer Susan McAdoo generously and competently captured the weekend with still photos.

Once again, Mother Nature challenged Talaria’s resolve to produce world-class seminars, with dramatic and threatening weather. In January it was snow and brutal cold. This weekend started with terrible storms, winds, and of course the devastating tornado that wreaked havoc in downtown Atlanta.

But still our hearty guests braved the storms–and were rewarded with a weekend that many will likely never forget, and for which the Arabian horse will be better served.

Allison and Curt thank our devoted staff, particularly Kelly, Jose, Heather, Anjelica, and Dana. We thank Sheila, Johanna, and Mike, for their contribution to the success of the weekend as well as to a future with hope. We most importantly thank all of our delightful guests for whom we trust this weekend in some special way, inspired them to look again, perhaps with a slightly different perspective. The energy was inspirational.

Genotype to Phenotype – Cliffs Notes for the Contemporary Breeder

Sunday 20 January 2008

Talaria presented a one-day colloquium entitled

“Genotype to Phenotype –
Cliffs Notes for the Contemporary Breeder”

Featured Panelists:

Scott Benjamin, International Judge
Beverly Sziraky, Imperial Egyptian Stud
Tom Patterson, Long-time Breeder & Former Trainer

Sunday was filled with stimulating conversation and not-often shared knowledge from well-respected industry members.
There were horse presentations and plenty of refreshment in an atmosphere for horses and horse lovers.

Southern Comfort and Western Pleasure

Where could you spend two full days learning how to evaluate your young horse for a career in Western Pleasure, enjoy two full southern breakfasts, improve your riding skills with the coaching of two of today’s most gifted performance riders, learn what tack is used to achieve what results as these two horsemen displayed and discussed the enormous variety of tools of their trade, enjoy more great food, enjoy a classy mounted Western Pleasure fashion show for today’s show ring, enjoy riding demonstrations by these two incredible riders as they work through inevitable challenges of preparing the junior horse for competition, enjoy a stylish southern dinner, see a preview of what may prove to be Talaria’s best young show string ever, view an authentic chuck wagon and hear about its history and be able to ask questions of an expert, have one final delicious meal of Texas style barbeque, and take home an amazing reference volume, compiled and written by Allison Mehta, as a serious addition to your library for future research?

“Southern Comfort and Western Pleasure” was passionately received and enjoyed by appreciative guests – some new to the discipline yet eager to understand more of its complexities and degree of skill required of horse and rider.

It was a glorious early spring weekend at the farm and we could not be happier for our guests and participants. Thank you Dale Brown and Jody Strand for your relaxed but lively interaction. You presented even the most complicated elements with ease and made the entire weekend fun for all of us including our special guest Ms. Samantha Mattocks, Features Editor for The Arabian Magazine.

We also thank Jane and John for, once again, keeping the food and refreshment true to the reputation of Talaria Farms.

Talaria Farms is excited to announce our next farm event. “Southern Comfort and Western Pleasure” will take place the weekend of 17 & 18 March, 2007. 2005 Western Pleasure Trainer of the Year, Jody Strand, and 2006 Rising Star Nominee Dale Brown are our guest speakers and demonstrators. There is much more on the agenda.

The Influence of Straight Egyptian Bloodlines on the Contemporary Arabian Horse

Perhaps Talaria Farms’ most provocative colloquium to date was experienced by guests the weekend of 2 December.

“The Influence of Straight Egyptian Bloodlines on the Contemporary Arabian Horse” + “Evaluating Young Horses for Career Paths” featured halter trainer Mike Wilson and performance trainer Dale Brown sharing their valuable knowledge and experiences both in and outside the show ring. Bridgette Orwig kept the entire crowd on their toes with a fascinating pedigree quiz and, of course, Talaria’s own, Allison Mehta, led the way in her inimitable eloquent manner.

Two days of casual yet educational discussions blended with demonstrations, individual horse evaluations, and the usual excellent fare prepared by Jane & John, left Talaria’s guests from around the country to return to their homes with new and fresh perspectives.

The weekend also allowed guests and clients to say farewell to Talaria’s retiring general manager Mike Albertini and to meet the new management team – Farm Manager Kelly Davis and Business Manager Deborah McLean.

Talaria Farms is already working on their next event for March 17th & 18th. Look for news of this exciting weekend in the upcoming months.

A Breeder’s Vision – Lessons from the Past in Breeding for the Future

On April 29th & 30th, Talaria Farms proudly presented another in our continuing series of seminars, “A Breeder’s Vision” (Lessons from the Past in Breeding for the Future), featuring Judith Forbis of Ansata Arabian Stud. This legendary breeder shared lessons she learned in nearly 50 years of breeding Straight Egyptian Arabians, in addition to sharing many coveted photographs of her early years in the Middle East as well as of her foundation stock that changed the course of the Straight Egyptian Horse forever.

On Sunday morning, Larry Olsen, DVM, assisted by Mike Albertini and Tom Patterson, followed Judy’s session with a very informative technical segment on breeding your mare. An absolute bounty of knowledge and wisdom was offered up the entire weekend to the delight of us all. Of course, the bounty included Jane’s and John’s usual outstanding dining experiences.

We are grateful to Judy for her generosity of personal time. For many, it will be a weekend not soon forgotten and, for the rest, likely remembered forever.

Desert Dreams & The Pedigree Puzzle

On Saturday evening, November 6, 2004, Talaria Farms hosted a gala event to welcome the beautiful young stallion, Suhal al Nasser to our farm. Suhal will be standing at Talaria through the 2005 breeding season, and is a very exciting addition to our stallion line-up.

Over 240 guests (by invitation only) attended the event, and were treated to world-class entertainment provided by Talaria, with the assistance of many talented industry professionals. The evening commenced with a social hour, where guests enjoyed drinks and hors d’oeuvres and visited with each other and the Talaria horses—and then proceeded to an exciting entertainment provided in the Talaria arena.

The Talaria inside arena was decorated to recall a desert ruin, complete with a Bedouin encampment—and the space filled slowly, as the evening progressed, with presentations of gorgeous purebred Arabian horses under spotlights (many in native tack such as HH Fortune Hunter wearing an antique Bakhtiari war bonnet and chest protector), accompanied by tribal dancers—all against a background of beautiful music. Darryl Larson created a special video, entitled “Desert Dreams,” which was shown during the event, and the evening culminated with a Middle Eastern feast provided by Talaria’s favourite chef, Jane Eikenberry, in the Talaria meeting room decorated to resemble an Eastern bazaar.

Arabian horse enthusiasts came from all over the US and several foreign countries—including Eileen Verdieck from Dubai, UAE, who helped present several of the horses, most notably the stunning young stallion, Suhal al Nasser.

But all the guests agreed that the highlight of the evening was the welcome by Botswana (Talaria’s resident young Straight Egyptian stallion) to Suhal al Nasser. These two young studs met each other “nose-to-nose” in center arena and the beauty and charisma demonstrated by both was mesmerizing!

Talaria is deeply grateful for the wonderful assistance provided by Eileen Verdieck, Rob Simpson of Cerene Acres Arabians, Michael Carpio of Chapel Farms, John Dolphy (who was responsible for most of the decorations), Bridgette and Denny Orwig, Awalim Dance Troupe of Atlanta, Jane Eikenberry and her staff for the wonderful food and drinks, George Lainhart (photographer), and AVA Productions for the sound and light effects. Plus, of course, many thanks to Talaria’s own Curt Westley for compiling the beautiful music which accompanied the horses and dancers, and the Talaria staff, under the expert guidance care of Jose Palomera, for preparing all, and presenting many, of the horses.

Lastly, and certainly not least, we wish to thank Michael Albertini, our general manager, for all that he does – that which we know and, more importantly, that which we don’t – a trusted, valued, and loved Talaria family member indeed.

The Pedigree Puzzle
The following day Talaria hosted a seminar (compiled by Mike Albertini and Bridgette Orwig) entitled “Unlocking The Pedigree Puzzle” for a group of about 40 interested breeders. The seminar was moderated by Eileen Verdieck and Mike Albertini, and many of the attendees, including Karen Henwood, Betty Gail Skinner, David Houseknecht, and Deb Nowak, spoke as to the importance of pedigree knowledge in their own breeding programs. Lunch and a social hour provided a pleasant interlude to give breeders the chance to discuss their programs and their plans for the future.

Who Remembers Our Beautiful TF Knight Hawke?

We alway knew Knight Hawke belonged in the spotlight.  So when he captured the heart and attention of the talented Sylvia Zerbini, we knew it was a perfect match.  Here he is on his latest adventure, on the set of Cavalia’s Odysseo with Sylvia.  What a fantastic story to watch unfold over the years.  We are so happy that so many get to enjoy his beauty and free spirit as he performs with her troop of Grande Liberte horses.

An Update On Mozambique V

A lovely email came to us from the owners of Mozambique V (Botswana x Misty Morn V). We love getting updates on offspring from our stallions. Particularly this colt, bred by Sheila Varian. To see the product of her planning come to life and start his career. And he has made us proud.

Good Morning Angela & Allison,

Dayton & I wanted to give you both a quick up date of our young man’s progress.
As of yesterday June 13th we have owned Mozes for 5 months. We have logged over 100 hours of “riding time” with AHA”s “Frequent Rider Program”.
We have just come back from a very deep Region 5 Sport Horse Off site Championship show w/ 160+ horses attending. As proud parents, we have to brag!! 🙂
Mozes is now a 2 time Regional Champion, 1 Reserve Champion & 1 Top Five.
The Championships were earned in English Dressage & Western Dressage. The Reserve was earned in Sport Horse Under Saddle Jr horse & the Top Five SH in Hand.
Also big news…..he was First in Halter in the pre show out of 18 & 4th out of 18 other geldings!! First in Junior Horse under saddle as well.
Plus he was named “Reserve High Point Gelding” in Hand for the pre show!
After 2 Regional shows he has earned 57 of the 75 points needed to have his first +.

This coming Tue we leave for our favorite show of the year Region 6 in Douglas Wy. Due to the lengthy drive we will take 4 days to drive, and be there 4 days before the show for him to adjust to the new surroundings.
There he will compete in both main ring (halter & hunter pleasure jr horse) and sport horse (in hand, under saddle, and both western & English dressage) I feel confident he will have ++ by the end of the show.
Will keep you posted to the results after the 4th of July.
Below for your viewing pleasure..our young man…Mozes.
There is also a link for you to click on to see him at the show. He is number 190.
cheers for now,
Debbie & Dayton Canaday

Salsa also went on to take Reserve Champion purebred hunter (both Region 12 & 14 qualifier). New Region 12 Egyptian Classic Championships!

We would like to personally invite you to present horses at the new REGION 12 EGYPTIAN CLASSIC CHAMPIONSHIPS in May! In addition to our straight Egyptian classes, R12 is offering both Egyptian Heritage (either sire or dam must be straight Egyptian)—and the WORLD classes which only require that “one line in the first four generations of a pedigree” be Straight Egyptian.

So, for our WORLD classes, horses sired by such stallions as Jullyen el Jamaal, Always a Jullyen V, Sundance Kid V, Shanghai, Exxalt, Marwan al Shaqab, Gazal al Shaqab, QR Marc, TF Royal Shahbaz, Trussardi, SF Veraz (to name just a few)—or out of mares with an SE line up fairly close—are all qualified for our WORLD classes.

And did we mention the prizes will be fantastic? Here is a sneak peek at the Grand Championship breast plates, made by Allison with hard to find Turkmen & Uzbekistan antique artifacts, which will be given out along with $18,000 in prize money that will be split among the classes! Early entries are due today. See you in Perry!

We warmly welcome Heather Spies to our team

Heather Spies has been a dedicated horsewoman for her entire life, and her love for horses is surpassed only by her work ethic and the care that she gives them. Heather has invested countless hours working with some of the top trainers in the industry to further hone her craft, and has attained success in all of the main ring Arabian horse performance divisions—including championships in Hunter, Western and Saddle Seat divisions at regional and national levels.

She provides all the horses under her care with the utmost individual attention, consistently focusing on their individual needs in order to maximize their abilities. With amateur riders, Heather has proven to be an excellent teacher—always taking the time necessary to explain the nuances of riding and the mastery of their horses. As with the horses under her care, she develops an individually tailored training program to maximize a rider’s level of accomplishment.

Horses and their riders will always be a part of Heather’s life. Conversely, Heather will always be a part of the horses’ and riders’ lives that she has touched. Heather’s reputation as a “horse listener” is apparent once you experience her methods.

Talaria Farms welcomes Heather Spies to our Talaria team—and we are very pleased to be able to offer her expertise in furthering a great experience with our—and our clients’—Arabian horses!

TF Lolanna

TF Ferrara

TF Ferrara is a beautiful representative of the cross between Thamer Al Khaled and Botswana daughters.  He is a classic beauty, ultra refined, with perfect tail carriage and a lovely ground covering trot.  Ferrara is stunning to look at with his expressive dark eyes, beautifully dished face, and large nostrils. He has a super kind and willing disposition and is just starting his career under saddle.  His small size, big movement, and fantastic temperament will make him a perfect competitive mount for a serious youth.

TF Afrikhan Light

Currently started under saddle and doing great!  Light is not only beautiful to look at, he has the brains and willing attitude his sire is so well known for.  Light is ready for the 2018 show season, doing very well with Heather in Western Pleasure and an absolute joy to trail ride.

TF Senzational

TF SENZATIONAL is a 4 year old gelding who has started his show career with Heather Spies.  We are very proud of this boy, winning his first class and Championship at his first show.  Watch for him in the ring in 2018.  We will continue to show this talented boy until he is sold.

LA Ghazal

LA Ghazal is an incredible opportunity to own a 3/4 brother to some of our best bred beauties such as: TF Exotikah, TF Eros, and TF Enyah.  A little magic happens when we cross Botswana on Safeen daughters and LA Ghazal is no exception.  Ghazal started his show career as a yearling at the 2017 US Egyptian Event, bringing home top prizes in deep classes.  We expect this young stallion to continue on his successful path and leave his mark on the breed as a future sire.

TF Royal Escada

TF Royal Euphoria

TF Royal Euphoria, is out of our beloved SH Heumoresque. Heumoresque was carefully chosen as the first Talaria mare to be bred to TF Royal Shahbaz. Euphoria is the only US born foal out of Shahbaz’s first foal crop and the last filly Heumoresque would ever have.  With the passing of Humoresque, Euphoria was chosen to take her place in the Talaria broodmare band.

The Egyptian related cross between Falcon BHF and TH Maya Naufali has produced four high quality horses. Royal Shahbaz may be the fanciest. Exotic, very athletic, and totally full of himself, Shahbaz is one of those engaging personalities that declares, “look at me!” See his dam Maya Naufali and full sister, TF Kestrelia, in the Mares section of the Talaria Farms website as well as his latest offspring below. Shahmiir QF

A beautiful stallion bred and owned by Toni Pierce of Quintessa Farms, California.

Botswana

The 1998 Straight Egyptian stallion, BOTSWANA, is royally bred, with three lines to the legendary Ruminaja Ali, and another to Ansata Ibn Halima. He thus comes from a long line of celebrated sires who have also been U.S. National Champion stallions. In addition, his only full brother (now deceased, as is their dam), was several times National Champion Stallion of South Africa (both in halter and performance). Of the Dahman Shawan strain, Botswana traces tail female to El Dahma through the Farida line. He is an IABS (Breeders Sweepstakes) Nominated Sire, CA and SCID clear.

Botswana’s own beauty and correctness have garnered top show-ring honors the few times he has been shown: 1999 Champion Futurity Colt at the U.S.Egyptian Event, 1999 Region 9 Top Five Stallion, 2000 Scottsdale Top Ten (3rd in a class of 21), & at the age of 11, 2009 U.S. Egyptian Event Champion Senior Stallion & Supreme Champion Stallion (unanimously). For the first time in the history of the Event, the Supreme Champion Stallion was also the leading sire.

However, as with any great stallion, it is Botswana’s beautiful foals who are engraving his reputation as a significant sire. After the 2003 Egyptian Event, Botswana was ranked as the 4th Leading SE Halter Sire (the youngest stallion to ever rank in the Top 5), and since then has always been in the Top 3 SE Halter Sires. Indeed, in 2004 and 2005, he was ranked 2nd (just behind his own sire)—and was also listed as a Leading Juvenile Sire by the Arabian Horse Times.

The athletic ability of his offspring made Botswana the #1 Straight Egyptian Performance Sire at the U.S. Egyptian Event through 2011, beginning in 2006. The beauty and correctness of his offspring made him the leading SE Halter Sire from 2008 through 2012, and the combination has made him the overall leading US SE Sire from 2007 through 2012. No small task for a sire with 133 registered foals.

Botswana get and now grand get have won globally. In addition to the US Egyptian Event, they have won at Class A & Regional shows throughout the country, Scottsdale, and US Nationals. Their sire has an astounding 70% “winning get ratio.” In 2003, 2004, 2005, 2010,& 2011, a Botswana yearling was either an EBC Champion or Reserve Champion at the US Egyptian Event—earning well over $100,000. in prize money for their owners.

This steady rise to the top is due to his prepotency, consistently siring extreme type, correct bodies and legs, high natural tail carriage—and beautiful sculpted heads with large lustrous eyes. He provides today’s breeder not only with a line-bred source to the great Sheikh al Badi sire line, but also the elegance and refinement of the blood of The Egyptian Prince and Ansata Ibn Halima.

Sweet Stella V

We purchased Sweet Stella as a weanling from Sheila Varian because we believed that she would nick well both with Botswana and the up and coming TF Royal Shahbaz. She has not disappointed. Sweet Stella V was a 2008 Top Ten Signature Stallion Yearling Filly ATH out of over 90 fillies.

TF Afrikhan Shah

Afrikhan Shah now stands at European Training Center in Sint-Truiden, Belgium. Johanna Ullstrom manages “Teddy” (as his closest fans have grown accustomed to referring to him as) in Europe. Updates on his journeys and experiences will be maintained on our News Page as well as this page in the future. Fresh cooled and frozen semen are available.

AFRIKHAN SHAH is an incredibly beautiful stallion, with strong fluid movement. Beyond his phenotypical beauty, he is most royally bred, descending in direct lineage through the great Shaikh al Badi sire line (which has produced such significant stallions as Ruminaja Ali, Ali Jamaal, Anaza el Farid, Gazal al Shaqab, Marwan al Shaqab, The Minstril, and Thee Desperado) to Shah’s own sire, Botswana, who was, at the 2009 U.S. Egyptian Event, Unanimous Champion Supreme Senior Stallion and the Leading Straight Egyptian Halter and Performance Sire for the third consecutive year. Shah’s sire line is filled with multiple US National Top Ten, US Reserve Champion, and US National Champion stallions (including the legendary Ansata Ibn Halima).

Afrikhan Shah’s dam, Rohara Shahblee, is a dam of champions, and brings into his pedigree the blood of the legendary Bey Shah, *Bask (1964 US National Champion Stallion & 1967 US National Champion Park Horse) and Fire Alert++ (1981 US Top Ten Stallion and 1982 US & Canadian Top Ten Pleasure Driving winner). Shah’s wonderful tail female line descends through CR Mirandy and Bint Sabbah (one of the most sought-after Egyptian tail female lines) to the immortal El Dahma.

Afrikhan Shah offers the discriminating breeder not just his own exotic type—but also a pedigree filled with beautiful, big-moving champion ancestors. He was the 2004 US Egyptian Event’s Reserve Champion Colt in the Egyptian Breeders’ Challenge, the unanimous champion Most Classic Head Male at the 2007 US Egyptian Event, and in 2008 won the 4 – 5 year old World Class Stallion Class.

If you are looking to add beauty, personality, and/or blow and snort, Afrikhan Shah might be your guy.

TF Eros

TF Eros, one of Botswana’s most exotic sons, is an exciting addition to our straight Egyptian stallion line up.  Eros comes from a very successful line of show horses who are known for their extreme type.   His full sister TF Exotikah, now owned by Al Dana Meslemani, earned the title of Gold Champion Mare at the 2013 US Egyptian Event while younger sister TF Enyah was unanimous Champion 2 YO SE Filly and highest scoring female of the 2014 show.  Eros has earned two Reserve Championships in very deep Yearling and 2 YO Futurity Classes in 2012 & 2013.

We are looking forward to his first foals in 2016.
