We began to rebuild Talaria’s broodmare herd in 1999, after much of the restoration of the Talaria complex was completed. A few of the best Ramses Herd mares were retained, and we have been extremely fortunate to add several more exceptional mares in recent years - about half of them being Straight Egyptian. It is our general policy to lease a mare for the first year to evaluate how she will “nick” with a particular stallion, and then purchase her if the resulting foal meets our standards.
