Bred by Susan Tanner-Hosford, Maya was purchased for the Talaria herd when she was just a yearling, her quality being so outstanding.

By Thee Desperado out of Tareefs Naufali (by Hadaya el Tareef), Maya is a grand-daughter of the great Shaikh Al Badi daughter, Amarela Al Badi (who has produced four Egyptian Event Futurity Champions).

Maya is a leggy, very balanced grey mare, with an exotic head, long shapely neck, and smooth body.

She produced her first foal in 2003, a handsome grey colt, TF Horus Bey, by Falcon BHF.

Her second foal, a lovely filly TF Kestrelia, also by Falcon, was born in February of 2005, and is featured on her page via the link above. 

In 2006, Maya delivered her second beautiful colt by Falcon, TF Royal Shahbaz, so often the crowd favorite when competing in the halter arena. Overheard during one of the shows he competed in: "He is the horse little girls dream of."  He is linked via the stallion page of this website.

In May of 2007, another lovey colt by Falcon was delivered, TF Alshain.  While we love fillies, each of these three colts by Falcon have been of consistent high quality and have not disappointed. 

In 2008, Maya was bred to the SE Botswana son TF Afrikan Alkhemi (out of the Elixir daughter TF Novaglori.). Their filly (TF Alkhemaya) pictured below as a weanling, is a tall elegant beauty who will be bred when she is 3 or 4, to one of our outcross stallions. 

In 2010, Maya delivered a beautiful bay filly, TF Maleah, by TF Afrikhan Shah.  We eagerly, yet patiently, consider stallions for her first cross.
