2004 U.S. Egyptian Event

The 2004 Egyptian Event was a wonderful week for Talaria and our clients. We ended up needing most of the stalls in Barn 3, plus seven in Barn 2 this year, and required three hospitality areas to encompass all our clients, guests, and friends. We were thrilled to have so many visitors come by the Talaria stalls, including Marion Richmond and several of her friends from Australia, Omar Sakr from Egypt, Dr. Nagel from Germany, and Miguel and Luiz Muzquiz from Mexico City.

We wish to thank Gary McDonald, Michael Byatt, Rob and Jen Simpson, Steve Dady, Greg Peake, Shawn Crews, and Fernando Poli for showing the Talaria horses to so many wins! Plus, of course, our very talented amateurs: Holly McDonald, Amy Austin, Merrie Aiken and Kati Hardwick. By the end of the week is was becoming difficult to find space to hang all those ribbons and plaques!

The “Botswana Babies” outdid themselves in center-ring at the Event this year—and their collective wins elevated Botswana to the 2nd Leading Straight Egyptian Halter Sire position announced by the Pyramid Society after the Event. His offspring managed to take home 5 Top Tens, 6 Top Fives, 2 First Places, 1 Reserve Championship, and 3 Championships! (For a complete listing of Botswana foal show wins, see the list on his stallion page.)

And, hardly were the horses, tents, rugs, furniture, tack, and ribbons safely back at Talaria than we started planning for the 2005 Event!! See you there!
